KOPILOT
Foaled - April, 2004
Dam - Kolomba (DE 309 090189096), purebred Trakehner by Michelangelo out of Kontressina by Arogno

“Kopilot came into the world sound, healthy and very well conformed. Her uphill topline with strong withers led us to whisper of a performance future, her legs -- long, lean and flawless -- held her steadily within 13 minutes. The dam is well-built with exceptional movement, however her behind is smallish and her type somewhat lacking feminity. This Windfilly inherited the striking knee action and uphill impulsion from her mother, however the hind-end, topline, connection, long legs, expression and quiet, confident temperament from Windfall. Her feet are large and well-formed. Her coat fine-haired, but thick. Her teeth and bite are correct. An easy keeper, she socializes well with youngsters in her pasture and manages to pick her favorite pile of hay with no challengers, even pushing the older males off theirs. She prefers human company and trots up nickering each time we open the back door. She plays by herself many hours of the day, often rising into 360-degree pirouettes without thought or effort. She is curious and fearless, but shows cautious restraint. She is patient, easy to handle and learns more like an adult horse than a weanling. In the several months since her birth, she has grown into a strikingly feminine beauty, no doubt due to the Arabian influence from Windfall. Her face is heavily dished with a crested brow, her gaze soft and demure. We are very happy to have the best combination of traits from Kolomba and Windfall, and could not have pieced together a better foal in our imaginations. With this Pasteur xx / Habicht cross, we have high hopes for her future in combined training. And surprise, surprise - at eight months old, this filly displays the best type and femininity in our herd. She is unmistakably her father’s daughter.”
