WINDANCER (added October 2007)
2007 Hanoverian filly

Note: This report will be of special interest to Hanoverian mare owners who are considering Windfall (approved AHS elite stallion, approved for Jumper Breeding Program) as a way to improve their breeding program by use of outside blood. It is interesting to note the comments of experts, especially those from Europe as in this case, who look at Windfall foals in other breeds. The words used by the Hanoverian team quoted below are nearly identical to those given about Ann Raish's Swedish Warmblood foal Captain Jack by the Swedish inspector back in 2004, i.e. "This is the type of foal we are trying to produce in this breed." Captain Jack was scored "9" in type as a SWB. Remembering that Windfall is himself only 1/4 "pure" Trakehener blood, one might conclude that he represents something very close to the model of the new type being sought by all European sporthorse breeds, as they all edge closer to what the market is seeking: a medium-framed, elegant riding horse with powerful and correct movement as well as jumper talent and the ability to pass it along.

"Just wanted to let you know that my 2007 Windfall filly, Windancer, out of Andrea Hayden's Hanoverian mare Eclipse TLM was filly champion at the Hanoverian inspection in Florida, August 29, 2007. The inspectors were very complimentary of the filly, the mare, and your stallion. Several times they commented that this was the type of foal that we should all be trying to produce and that she was the perfect example of what you get when breeding a high quality mare to a stallion of Windfall's caliber. In addition to beautiful conformation and movement, she is very people oriented, very level-headed, and very quick to learn. I had very high expectations of this foal when I decided on this breeding and she has exceeded everything I hoped for. Thank you so much Tim, Cheryl, Windfall, Andrea, and Eclipse for the chance to own such a magnificent filly.
